Special Pre-Release Screening of Brothers at War to Show in Akron
Screening Followed by Meet and Greet with Filmmaker and Executive Producer
Akron, Ohio (March 13, 2009) – An eye-opening and sentimental look into the life of American soldiers in Iraq will fill the screen at Regal Interstate 18 Theater on Saturday, March 21 at 12:55 P.M. The film, Brothers at War, will be followed by an intimate question and answer session with producer/director Jake Rademacher and executive producer David Scantling of Scantling Technology Ventures in Akron. The filmmakers will then host a special meet and greet at Uncorked Wine Bar in downtown Akron. Brothers at War opens nationwide on March 27.
“This is a once and a lifetime opportunity for film students, production professionals and the general public to learn about an emotionally packed film’s origins and meaning directly from the filmmakers,” said Tony Troppe, managing member of New Akropolis Media Arts, one of the presenting groups. “This film will capture the emotions of millions across the world who have, or have ever had, loved ones at war.”
Tickets to the screening and after-show meet and greet are $10 and can be purchased at Mocha Maiden, 51 East Market Street, downtown Akron, or by calling 330.374.1114. Space permitting, $5 tickets for the meet and greet will be available at the door. A 50 cent fee, per ticket, will be added for credit card purchases. Availability permitting, tickets will sold at Mocha Maiden until 9:00 P.M. on Friday March 20. Tickets can be picked up Tuesday, March 17 – Friday, March 20 at Mocha Maiden. Screening only tickets can be purchased at the Regal Interstate 18 box-office for $6.50.
“Tickets to this exclusive screening and meet and greet are very reasonably priced because our goal is to foster an Akron-area appreciation for independent cinema,” Eric Vaughan, also a managing member of New Akropolis and Executive Director of The Akron Cinema Society said. “It is important that the event is priced with students and the general public in mind.”
Presenting sponsors include New Akropolis Media Arts and The Akron Cinema Society. Key sponsors of the event are the Akron Independent Film Festival and Uncorked Wine Bar.
The movie will premiere at Regal Interstate 18 Theater on Friday, March 20.
